Good Poetry

Good poetry is knowing when to stop the rhyme

Whether it’s two or twenty-two lines

  1. I agree with this fully! On the last publication I was involved in I got into a habit of over-using alliteration and rigid rhyme schemes to seem ‘desirable’. Recently though I’ve been taking rhyme out of the equation a lot more, and so many ideas have flourished because of it!

  2. But it is not necessary to make it rhyme, I mean it’s always the thought which is the most important thing. What I try to do is, not to make the poetry look good, rather focus on the thought.
