With a new non-smoker righteousness
you glare at all of me
I’m vulnerable, I’m open
Don’t you want to hold all of me?
Will you curse the shape of my body
or my heart
my spirit
my dream or
perhaps just all of me
Your love that I
need so desperately
makes you dislike me
immediately
I am but a child
I didn’t ask to be born
But please, can you not hug me,
feed me –
keep me warm

Very touching post Kait! I love your perspective from the child here, makes it that much more emotional!

Thank you Kevin, 🙂🙏 One of my passions, trying to wake up the rest of the world to the reality of child and animal abuse, it’s a very slow progress though. More kids need more help much faster than what’s happening. It’s seems our leader’s priorities are a little off balance…or maybe a lot! 😔

I agree with you Kait! We need a lot more awakenings in this world!

This poem and the way you wrote it, brought me sadness to my heart.
Powerfully gripping and heartfelt.

Haha! Yes – as an ex-smoker, I swore I would never wear that look I had seen on so many others’ faces, through my smoking “era” :)=~ I did it for ages and then just realised I didn’t want to be one of those yellow-stained old people…if I got lucky enough to GeT old lol 🙂 nothing profane – oh that, and wrinkles – so just vanity! 🙂 Only been 5 or 6 years now – I’ve given up counting which is really good!

doesn’t matter the reason, so long as you’ve stopped! cong
