Don’t you leave me
left behind
Don’t you cut me
out of your mind
Can’t you see you’re here all alone?
Can’t you hear your heart say
This is home?
Don’t you hurt me for ever more
Don’t you walk away
and leave it all
You can’t hold me like that
then let me go
There’s something more
that you don’t know…

Oh ! Kait I really loved your writing
but did something happen that made you write this ..?

I think life happened… love and falling in and out of it can get bumpy! Add marriage and children and the sense of betrayal and loss are greater, somehow. Thank you so much for reading and commenting Fatima!ππ»π

I can’t begin to tell you how much I smiled at that line. Poetry is such a soul stirring thing. Love this piece. π€

Thank you so much πππ» and yes, words can cut but also heal, make you sad or smile. Their combination both elusive and determined…

You can feel cursed with a caring heart, I’m sure you know what I mean …

Yes, of course. Iβd rather be guilty and pained by an (over) caring heart than being a person unable to love …

Is it weird that I sang this in my head instead of reading it like I usually do other poems hmm. Loved it

I like your writing.
Why do you upload images with your text? Is there a particular reason?

Hi, thanks π – I guess it’s just another form of expression or giving my words a little more impact? Or perhaps to give a little more insight into me and my perceptions? Also, I love cooking and I know that we eat with our eyes first, so it just seems like a logical progression to draw a persons’ eye to my writing as well. Thanks for asking and I hope this answers your questions π

“we eat with our eyes first” — WOW!
All those cooking shows…Fascinating.
We do taste and eat with our eyes!

I think so π then our nose with smell and even in a tactile sense if we are holding the food, aurally if we can hear it sizzling or popping etc – our mouth is the last thing that is engaged… obviously π But interesting science and psychology behind food π
