A Treasured Life

Me n my Dad

My Dad and Me

It was so sad

to watch you fade

your mind

as sharp as a knife

It was so hard

to say goodbye

To such a treasured life

It made me smile

to think on you a while

and on how you loved

your wife

Your children given

all you had

you gave

a treasured life

It seems that you

are still here

although you can’t

be seen

I often talk to you

And not just

in my dreams

I hope I told you

I loved you enough

I hope you know

how much I cared

And I know

one day,

I’ll see you again

Somewhere over there…

  2. I’m extremely impressed along with your writing skills and also with the format in your
blog. Is that this a paid subject matter or did you customize it your self?
Either way stay up the nice high quality writing, it is rare to see a nice weblog like this one nowadays..

  3. So hard it is to say goodbye to someone you love. Talk to them often we still do. Parents who took care of us and showed us how to be most of all. Have a blessed, fun and pain free (as far as possible) week my very dear friend, Kait, love and kindness from me to you as always xoxo

  5. Losing a loved soul is the toughest thing we have to go through. I just lost one I loved more than anything else and it’s so hard. But truth is, I know he’s looking after me, guiding me, helping me through this time of sorrow. And so also, your dad will remain Ur guardian angel, and will always be around. Wish u strength.

    • Oh thank you so much and yes, I do believe he is around me, particularly when I think of him and need him. I still talk to him too 🙂 I’m so sorry for your loss and know I am thinking of you and giving you strength to get through this time too, it’s never easy and the hurt can be fresh like dew on the grass, even after time, but the love I have for my dad remains a constant. Blessings to you and thank you for sharing 🙂

  6. Such is the irony of life. All those efforts, dreams, hopes, memories – all gone one day – in the blink of an eye. This reminds me of a quote by Yeats – Life is a long preparation for something that never happens. Touching piece 🙂

  7. Lost is always hard to forget, yet so easy to remember. The days slow, as your heart wraps itself around your mind. You pause, rewinding that hug, kiss, conversation; it plays over and over. You even attempt to fastforward time, in hopes you see them again. Lost is so hard to forget, yet so easy to remember. And you did a great job of capturing in. Beautiful….
