That’s the last thing you wore
that held your warm body close
It was the last thing before
your heart and pressure slowed
A cloth got to finally hold you
something I never got to do
People say that it was better that way
But I don’t know if that’s quite true
I hold your once sweaty t-shirt
drenched now with my own tears
and try to inhale what’s left of you
As it fades from all the years

I’m so sorry you’re having to get through this hellish time right now – one foot in front of the other is often all you can do. Sometimes it takes a while for things to feel like they’re ever going to get better – and sometimes that is true, but what does happen, is things do change and the hurt shifts to another place and just that change alone can be the break you need to cope again. Hang in there, you’re in my thoughts and sending you strength.

Yeah- it’s not easy – I’ve just done the first lot of anniversary stuff this last year…it’s not like you need anniversary’s – you will never forget, you don’t need the dates in your diary like birthdays – you see it looming like a thunder-head, loud and clear – if that’s even possible when it’s so ever-present any way…really feel for you – and if you need a stranger to hear you, I’m only a few digital impressions away 🙂 It will get better – like an EKG, time seems to shrink and expand and slowly the peaks and troughs become less squashed together and even out a bit, not so many troughs but a few flat-lines at times – take care 🙂
