There’s a part of me I don’t want people to see. Sometimes I think my battle with writing at times is because of exactly that. If I write what I want to – which I do, this must make people (strangers and those I know too), think of me in a certain way. That’s just the way the cookie crumbles, we all represent in some way or another – the way we decorate ourselves, our homes, our cars insides….But that is easy to see when we visit people’s homes or meet them and feel akin to them or get a ride in their super tidy or super messy car – we are able to make assessments.
But what about when you really know very little about a person and yet you are able to read their minds, well in a way, kind of. I write what is in and on my mind and you are reading it….mind reader 🙂

We all feel that way – that there is a part of us we don’t want anyone to know about. It is called the Dark Side. But as a psychologist I know that allowing that side to enjoy the light brings a peace and contentment. Perhaps it’s talking to a therapist or writing it down in a secret notebook. If we don’t face it we will never be whole.

The struggle is real, as they say. I’ve had a friend that has known me for almost 15 years be surprised at some of my writing. But she’s never thought ill.

Well that’s got to be good!😊 I have had people who know me, question what they thought they knew, after reading some dark stuff. That’s just the life of a writer though…we bare our souls for all to scrutinize and keep writing anyway!😉☺

I don’t mind it much when it comes to my writing… I think your writing is wonderful. Your poetries are a source of joy and thoughts for many. Mind reading, yeah we do it all the time and think others do the same about us. People do but you just have to do what you want to do (write what you want to write) and let them think… 😉

I struggled with that in the initial phases of my writing when my parents suddenly want to read my work, but I think I’ve moved past that now. I’m an adult after all, and entitled all my eccentricities.
