Whoever you are

I just want you to know

that you are not alone

I know it sounds empty –

we can’t talk

I can’t hug you

I can’t invite you into my home

But I need you to know

that there is someone out there

someone who also feels the same

is sick of the same game

and shares the same fears

If I can make you understand

this is not what defines you

but the choices you make

from this day forward

even when you don’t know

what to do

  1. Oh, Kait, on a day when I was sitting here alone, sad and feeling like life was too much, your poem deeply touched my heart. If I could, I would reach out to you and offer a shared hug 🤗. As I’m unable to offer that from here, I send you a fond and genuine virtual hug. Thank you for sharing your warm and comforting words, dear friend. Xx 💝

    • Dear Ellie, sometimes I think of my words as hugs, just as they can be written as many things. This was written with love and grief. Grief for the love that will not ever be known by some but with a love that is hopeful and extends beyond all bounds. You’re so not alone, Ellie. And the world needs way more of you and me. Never give up xxx❤️

      • Dear Kait, I felt your words to be just like hugs. I understand the grief, too. You write beautifully and I feel you, like me, write from your heart and your soul. I feel, if we ever met each other, we would be good friends with a shared love. Thank you, beautiful soul Xxx 💝

      • I totally believe that, too! Aw Ellie, it’s so lovely to meet kindred spirits. We’ve been through the wars, but we’re warrior princesses – stronger, braver, and unbroken, in spite of life throwing stuff at us, relentlessly! We’ve never lost the capacity to love or empathize and be compassionate – that takes beautiful souls x (from one to another)💖🌻

  5. Thanks for sharing this. Sometimes, we unknowingly help others. And that’s what you did here. Lot’s of love to you .
I have started writing as a way to unburden myself from thoughts that bother me. Would you pay a visit to my blog, go through my posts & leave your views on it? I would be so thankful. Happy reading.

    • Oh thank you, I’m so glad and grateful that this has helped you. Writing is so cathartic and I’m sure you will find it as healing as I do 🙂 I will do my best to get to your site very soon. Happy writing and peace, love n light to you

    • Oh you are too kind – that’s a beautiful thing to say, thank you! I did have music to a lot of my stuff, but not being a musician as in writing music, (I only sing and write) I don’t own the composition, just the words – wow – thank you so much 🙂

      • Thank you! Yes, I have had an injury and it has put me out of touch with all the muso’s I used to know and can’t sing any more but they are out there and maybe if I’m lucky someone might like to use my lyrics! 🙂 It’s so good having a public platform!
